Are Beretta al391 urika and al391 urika 2 chokes interchangeable?
I just bought an al391 urika 2 synthetic. It takes optima plus chokes. I’m looking to buy a light modified extended choke for it. I found one I really like that is an optima plus. However, it says, “This factory choke tube from Beretta will only fit the A391 Xtrema 3.5, AL391 Urika, and Al391 Teknys 12 gauge shotguns.” If it fits the alk391 urika, will it fit the al391 urika 2?
Thanks for the help, Matt.
Beretta was one of the first companies to offer interchangeable choke tubes for shotguns. What a pity that they made it so difficult on their consumers later.
The answer is, who knows? You will need to contact the seller and have them measure the entire length of the choke tube to determine if it will fit your shotgun.
Beretta’s “standard” chokes were called MobilChokes. I think they made a mistake when they introduced the longer choke tubes. Why? Well for starters, they are harder to carry with you if you shoot sporting clays. Ok, so maybe that’s a minor issue. So the real issue is that I would call them “thin walled” choke tubes. That means that the taper toward the receiver end of the tub is so thin that if you simply drop one of the tubes on the ground at the asphalt parking lot of your local gun club, you can dent the tube wall enough that it will become deformed and not fit in the gun anymore.
