Beretta 90-two 9mm to .40?
I have a CX4 storm in .40, a 90-two in 9mm and I wanted to have both capable of using the same magazines. Not needed just thought it’d be cool.
If I were to get a 90-two barel in .40 and recoil spring (spring and guide rod are combined on this gun) would the gun function correctly? Does the extractor or any other part of the slide need to be replaced?
I’m concerned about using Beretta 96 parts because although many of the part are interchangeable the barrel might be different because of a new recoil buffer built into the gun. It’s that blue piece.
ugh…first of all from what I can tell Beretta 92/90-two 9mm/CX4 9mm magazines are all compatible as well as Beretta 96/90-two/CX4 .40. Also a Beretta 96 magazines will fit in a 9mm 90-two I just did it.
No, it will not work.
You cannot convert a low calber gun to a higher caliber. A 9mm->.40 would create more stress than the 9mm frame was designed to handle and would eventually break components if not your fingers. However, a .40->9mm will work, because if the .40 frame is built a little beefier.
Besides, the .40 is slightly larger in diameter to the 9mm (.38″) and you’d end up with feeding problems.
If you’re interested in using similar mags, swap out your .40 CX4 for a9mm CX4. The 9mm high caps are easier to find and cheaper.
