Walther PPk – similar pistols – read on..?
I’ve owned a few pistols and recently purchased a PPK/S. I went to the range today with the PPK and also my SA XD-9.
I did not enjoy shooting the XD-9 at all, even though it shot flawlessly and is a great gun. It just doesn’t fit my hand right and I think it is a bit top-heavy for me. (small hands)
The PPK however – I really enjoyed shooting it and was much more accurate in my hands.
I only want 2 pistols. the PPK and now one other. I’m going to sell the XD and get possibly another PPK (this one in .32 and not .380) but I wanted some opinions on other guns that might fit the bill.
1. I don’t mind the smaller calibers (yes, I understand what that means but If I don’t want to shoot the higher cal’s then what’s the point?).
2. I like the all-steel feel of the PPK. The plastic guns just don’t feel great to me.
Should I stick to another PPK in the smaller cal? It’s also for my wife to shoot. How about the Beretta Tomcat?
rent before you buy, or pay more attention when you hold them.
I think you might like an all steel 1911 single stack 45, try one out. Try out a Browning Hi Power as well.
Then if your wife can handle the 380, and there is no reason why she shouldn’t, stick with that pair, or sell the 380 and get a 32 instead
