Broadhead for Turkeys?
I’m new to bowhunting turkeys and I was just wondering about what type of broadhead is best for my setup. I shoot a Bowtech TomKat set at 55 pounds at 29″ draw. For deer I use NAP Spitfire 100 grain broadheads and from what I’ve experienced with them, they’re devastating. I know NAP makes the “Gobbler Getter”, the same broadhead only designed with a blunter head, but I’m wondering if it would be worth the switch, or I wouldn’t get enough penetration.
I was also looking at the Aftershock Hypershock Gobbler broadhead. It seems like it would be an effective turkey broadhead. What do you guys think?
I would not spend the money on a different set of broadheads just for turkeys. Your NAP spitfires will have no problem killing a turkey, its just a 20lb bird. If they will kill a deer they will kill a turkey.
Can a Broadhead penetrate a cape buffalo shoulder blade?
