Which of these would your rather have for whitetail deer?
I have narrowed it down between two different guns.

I assume that the Remington 700 is the better rifle because of the price increase and name brand. Since I am a college student though, I am pretty short for money nowadays. If i purchased the Marlin, I would buy a $250-$300 scope (thinking Bushnell Elite 3200). If i purchased the Remington however, I would be forced to buy a lower quality scope.
Which of these setups would you prefer? (other suggestions for other guns/scope also very much appreciated) Thanks!
