Making cloth diaper inserts?
I just started going cloth today, I got the gdiapers, and the biodegradeble liners because the gcloth inserts were so pricey, someone told me to make some out of recieving blankets, which I did and they worked great! But my question is should the blanket be white with no dyes or color or is color okay? I just dont want it to be hash on his private areas Thanks bunches!!
& I am gonna get some gerber prefolds eventually but this will tide me ove till then 
Color is defiantly okay! I make my own diapers and they are full of color – as are many cloth diapers you can purchase. I started diapering by making Rita Rump Pocket Diapers with my old receiving blankets – some colored some not: http://handmadebyrita.blogspot.com/
Just an FYI – Gerber Prefolds are not the best choice – they are low quality and do not hold up over time. There are many prefolds that are awesome – here’s one: http://nickisdiapers.com/catalog.php?category=214
Along those lines as well: I purchased the hemp Best Bottom inserts and they are amazing. I actually like them more than my prefolds for older/ more active babies – I only bought one of each size, and then I used my hemp terry/ velour cloth and sewed about a dozen per size.
