what is mineral oil….?
I bought a knife and I was told that I should put some mineral oil on it. What is mineral oil? If I just put some vegetable oil on it would it do the same? If it’s any help, it’s a Gerber fixed blade profile kinfe.

oh my goodness! HOW DO I APPLY IT?
I would not suggest vegetable oil as it will become gummy over time. Mineral oil is made from petroleum. You could use WD-40, three in one oil or anything like that.
