Which Do you think would win: A Mean Bengal Tiger VS A Savage Kodiak Bear?
(Kodiak bears are larger than a Grizzly bears And a bit smaller than a Polar Bear but less ferocious than a Grizzly.- but for now it’s got one HECK of an Attitude) I’ll just be asking random questions on these because I’m keeping record on a series of projects. ;D
The best way to evaluate this is to look at actual interactions that occur between siberian tigers and the brown bears that coexist with them. Adult male siberian tigers avoid and are wary of adult male brown bears that they encounter. They know they are formidable and should not be tackled. Although brown bears do form part of their diet, this tends to be young, injured, ill bears etc, not adult males. These Ussuri browns are smaller than kodiaks. On this basis alone it is fair to conclude that the kodiak would come out on top. Further, bengals (despite very recent findings) are a little smaller than contemporary siberian tigers, this can only strengthen the case for the bear.
The difference in disposition and temperament between the grizzly and kodiak is of little consequence in the event of a physical confrontation. Kodiaks are the largest brown bears and weigh generally half as much again or even twice what a bengal tiger does (ignoring pre-denning bulking). They are much more powerful and more capable in a confrontation – the bear would win.
