Funny Cat Stories?
Does anyone have funny/interesting cat stories they’d like to share?
Here’s an interesting one I heard from a friend: My friend’s neighbors woke up one morning to find a small kitten in their backyard, apparently lost and hungry. Naturally they fed it, took it in as their pet, but it never became a fully indoor cat. As the cat grew, they noticed that it had leopard-like patterns, was quite large, and also killed birds and rabbits like no other. They didn’t think much about it, only occasionally wondered what breed of cat they have that is so huge.
Then one day they had friends over, and their children were in the living room watching tv. Then one of them said, “hey look, your cat’s on tv!” They turned to see the kids watching a Animal Planet program on Bobcats… things started making sense after that.
We already had a puppy, around a year old, when we got our kitten. Of course we introduced Jasper, the kitten, and Buddy, the dog, slowly for short visits in the family room, and eventually they were fine with eachother, that Jasper could be free around the house. We think Jasper was taken away from his mother too young, because he started thinking Buddy was his mother. When Buddy (who is a BOY!), would be lying down or sleeping, Jasper would come over and start sucking on his “nipples”, as comfort I guess. Buddy was totally fine with that, and I think it made them have a great bond. Buddy would sometimes put Jaspers whole head in his mouth, and swing him (not aggresivly) around, and carry him around like that, and oddly, Jasper liked it. Just like the mother cat carries her kitten. I still, to this day, think that Jasper thinks that Buddy is his mother. It’s so cute though!
(Buddy is a Golden Retriever/Lab cross, and Jasper is an Orange Tabby. So they both are orange/yellow, and have white on them. They’re so cute together!)
