Do I need to disconnect the battery in my truck to remove a part from the car charger?
I have one of those adapters for iPod that you plug into the cigarette lighter/power source of your vehicle. The last time I tried to remove it from the lighter, the part of the iPod adapter that plugs into the lighter came apart and now I have a few metal pieces stuck inside the lighter portion. I can’t dig it out with one finger, and 2 fingers obviously won’t fit. So if I use a needle nose pliers or Leatherman tool to pull it out, should I disconnect both cables from the battery first, so that I don’t cause damage to the truck’s electrical?
No just pull the lighter fuse and you’re fine.
