Yes, it was a mock question. I’m writing an article on child abuse and my general thesis was that “animals have more rights than people.” Long story, but I reported an incident of child absue several months ago, and no action was taken. I actually had to call the humane society to report a “bogus” case of animal abuse to prompt an investigation into the matter.

Its okay to abuse children and kill them at birth (via abortion) because, unlike cat’s and dogs their not “cute and fuzzy.” Likewise, cats are justified in killing mice and birds because said animals are undesirable, at least to most people. Plus cats are natural predators, as many would argue. However, you can kill a snake, wolf or fox, and that’s fine…but don’t harm a bear, otter, groundhog, or anything else cute and furry. But if the aforesaid animals were “bald” it would be okay.
