Tree stand for big guy?
I am a big guy, and like to hunt but looking at a portable type tree stand. Looking at high end tree stands the sumitt titan has a 350 lb weigh limit, but i am 6 2 and 350 on the dot, so with gear i might exceed the limit which makes me hesitant.
I am looking at ladder stand but have never set one up, are they easy to move around if i want to hunt more then one location during the season??
Any reccomendations on heavy duty climbing stands or easy to set up ladder stands.
I feel that you would be safe in a stand rated for 350 lbs. The manufacturer low balls the weight capacity of their stands as an added safety measure against law suits.
The ladder stand can be a viable option for you. The one man types are fairly easy to set up and can be moved during the hunting season.
But the better solution may be to invest in a ground blind.They work well on deer and would be the best stand as far as safety is concerned on the market.
