Endura 4 vs Tenacious (Spyderco)?
ok i really want a good knife that has a left-handed pocket clip dual thumb studs and a really good all around steel.i was looking at endura 4s and tenacious’.
nevermind the thumbstud thing i was very sleepy when i put the question. i just want to make sure they’re lefty friendly
So, you realize of course that Spyderco is practically the only knife in the class you are mentioning which doesn’t have thumbstuds at all. Benchmade, SOG, Cold Steel, all use thumstuds for one handed opening, but Spyderco has their trademark pterydactol style hole.
Now, between the two knives you list, I would choose the Endura 4 every time. Personally I don’t much like the liner lock design for a number of reasons and given the option much prefer a lockback between the two all other things being equal.
It is actually pretty easy to accidentally disengage a liner lock while using it. Liner locks have poor performance in impact loading. Liner locks tend to become less secure if the blade starts to wobble a bit, the list of issues go on. They are so prevalent mostly because they are so easy to design knives for. Lock backs are better under all of these circumstances.
Of course there are better locks than lock backs in these cases as well, but you asked about these knives specifically.
