how to recover flash memory card pictures? ?
My father-in-law has a Pentax digital camera from Korea and it uses 1 GB Sandisk flash card. I loaded the flash card on my Dell D420 Windows Vista notebook and it was asking me to format my e: drive and I canceled since I didn’t want to lose all the picture data on the flash card. I put the flash card back in the digital camera then everything was erased and gone. Then I found a site called cardrecover.com and downloaded their evaluation version and was able to recover all the pictures but their trail version won;t let me save the pictures unless I pay $40 for thier stupid software. Does anyonw know where I can get a free version that I can save the recovered pics to my computer? Thanks and Happy New Year!!!
I’ve used WinHex sucessfully, but they will want to be payed for the full version too. There must be freeware, but when I was looking for a solution using Google I didn’t find anything I liked the look of, though that was a year or two back.
Some Lexar cards come supplied with recovery software. It might be worth looking at their site or SanDisk’s. They may want paying too. I didn’t keep the Lexar software, but I think that was also a trial version.
