Creative ways to camouflage a tree stand?
What creative ways have y’all used to hide your ladder, climbing, and strap-on tree stands? Or to hide your silhouette and movement when in the stand?
I’ve told my family no tinsel on the Christmas tree… I’m using it to add limbs to mine in Jan (split in half w/sawz-all… tie to sides of ladder)
You could cut some local vegetation and tie it to get it to blend in. I have used chicken wire and ran grass and small branches through it to create a various size camo “walls” to hide the blind. Dyed strips of fabric can be wrapped around ladders and such. Or even old clothes of green, brown, etc can be cut into strips of camo material.
I have known a few who bought plastic plants at decor centers or florists and sprayed them brown here and there. Plastic ferns work great for this.
Military camouflage netting used for equipment works great and local foliage can be added to it.
An old fishing net can be filled with local or plastic plants or fabric strips for a camo net.
Charcoal from a fire can be rubbed on surfaces to darken them.
The only problem I see in late season work on a stand is the scent issue from new material. This might be a consideration.
